The Aussie Mate started at home in Brisbane, with our own dogs and cats and a growing frustration: the pet gear on our shelves either looked good and failed fast, or lasted but felt like an afterthought. We reckoned our animals deserved better. So we went looking for it. When we couldn’t find it, we started sourcing and testing it ourselves, product by product.

Today we operate from Brisbane, up and down Australia’s east coast, serving pet owners in every corner of the country and a growing community of mates overseas. Every product in the range is chosen the same way: would we happily hand this to our own animals? If the answer isn’t an immediate yes, it doesn’t make the cut.

Our motive is simple. Pet gear should solve real problems: spilt water on the back seat, beds that flatten in a month, leads that fail at the worst moment. And it should do that well enough to earn a permanent place in your home. We spend our time hunting down innovative, genuinely useful gear so you don’t have to.

And why pour all this time into our little Aussie mates? Because they’re family. First at the door, the shadow under your feet in the kitchen, the reason the beach trip happens at all. They give us their whole lives and ask for almost nothing back. Gear that keeps them safer, healthier and more comfortable is the least we can do.
